ADMISSION FOR SUMMER EXAMINATION (June)
  • 31st December      : Last date for submitting new Membership for registration.
  • 15th January         : Last date for submitting with late fee of Rs 100/-
  • 1st April                : Last date for submitting Examination Forms.
  • 15th April              : Last date for submitting with late fee of Rs. 100/-

Examination enrolment forms will not be accepted for June examination after 15th April. Examination begins on 2nd Monday of June.

REGISTRATION
Candidates after admission will be registered with the Institution of Motor Industries, Chennai as Student Members. The enrollment form for registration along with the prescribed registration charge (Demand Draft drawn in favour of The Institution of Motor Industries, Chennai, Payable at Chennai) must be submitted before 15th January for January session and 15th July for July Session after admission. The membership is valid up to 31st December of every year, which has to be renewed before 15th January of every year with the prescribed renewal fee of IMI.

EXEMPTION
Participants who have passed Madhyamik or equivalent Examination with 60% aggregates in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry will get full exemption from AMIMI-PART “A” Examination. Participants may also get a subject wise exemption in the subjects (Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry) having obtained 60% marks in respective subjects. Also, those who have passed first year examination in any diploma Course, are also eligible for exemption from PART “A”

RULES FOR ADMISSION

All participants must satisfy the Admission Requirements regarding their qualification, age etc. for the course and also satisfy the exemption criteria, if needed.
Participants satisfying the admission requirement must also apply in the prescribed Application Format. The completed Application must be accompanied by:

  1. Recent passport size photograph (8copies), self-attested at the back.
  2. Mark sheet & admit card of the qualifying examination (4 copies each)
  3. Proof for exemption, if required.

EXAMINATION SYSTEM
The Institution’s Examination is held twice a year in June and December. The students must submit the filled up prescribed Examination Forms along with the examination fees (Demand Draft drawn in favour of The Institution of MOTOR Industries, Chennai payable at Chennai) before 31st March for June Examination and 30th September for December Examination.

RULES & REGULATIONS
  • 75% attendance in classes is compulsory. Long period of absence must be substantiated need by an application signed by Guardian.
  • Misbehavior of any student will compel him to cancel his registration with the institution.
  • In examination hall no malpractice will be allowed.
  • If a student fails to join his class after admission without showing any valid reason, his admission fees    and other charges will not be adjusted to any other session or refunded.
  • A student must clear all his dues before each examination, failing which he will be unable to receive his admit card for the examination.
  • A student must deposit the monthly tuition fee/ semester fee before 10th day of every month. Otherwise late fine will be charged.
  • Students selected for practical training at the designated centre will not be allowed to refuse the said training.
  • Students are not entitled to form student union.
